AU-PMS / Housekeeping and staff

Keep room readiness and staff work connected.

Explore local housekeeping, maintenance and staff workflows for hotel rooms and individual hostel beds. Give reception a clearer view of the work still needed before the next arrival.

AU Nexus product overview · About AU Nexus · Reviewed

A vacant room may still need cleaning, and a clean bed may be blocked for maintenance. AU-PMS demonstrates those operational distinctions alongside assigned work, staff access, rosters, attendance corrections and leave. This is part of the hotel and hostel PMS, using synthetic data for a local demonstration; first-client onboarding and live operating acceptance remain ahead.

See vacancy, readiness and maintenance separately

The next reservation, the guest currently occupying a unit and the unit's readiness describe different facts. Reception needs to know which room or bed is committed and whether the physical unit can be used when the guest arrives.

The local workflows keep housekeeping and maintenance work distinct. Completing cleaning does not by itself clear a maintenance outage. Review both a private-room example and an individual dorm-bed example rather than treating all inventory as identical rooms.

Give operational tasks an owner

Housekeeping and maintenance tasks can be organized around the room, bed or location that needs work, with an assignee and visible status. Staff can review outstanding work and managers can follow its recorded history.

During a walkthrough, check the front-desk view as well as the housekeeper's view. Ask who may assign, update and review a task, and which information that role can access. A useful operational view should not require exposing unrelated employee or financial records.

Coordinate shifts, attendance and leave

The staff scope includes rosters, overnight shifts, attendance records and reviewed leave. Attendance corrections retain the original value, the actor and the reason, so a correction can be understood later rather than silently replacing the record.

Use the demonstration to review a missing attendance record and a leave request that conflicts with an overnight shift. Confirm who can decide the request and how the manager identifies coverage that still needs attention. These are staff coordination records, not a promise of payroll calculation or disbursement.

Walk through a synthetic bed-turnover example

Start with a fictional guest departing from Bed A. Leave the bed awaiting cleaning and assign the task. Then record a maintenance issue affecting that bed. After the cleaning task is completed, inspect whether the maintenance state and reception's next action remain clear.

Repeat the example for a private room and review it from two staff roles. Record the observed state, responsible person and evidence at each step. This is an illustrative buying exercise, not a report of a customer outcome or a claim that a new product test passed.

  • Which unit is physically vacant, and which reservation is next?
  • Who owns the cleaning or maintenance work?
  • What remains unresolved after a task is marked complete?
  • Can the next shift understand the same state without reconstructing a chat?

Review permissions and handover with the actual team

A receptionist, housekeeper and manager need different actions and information. Review role permissions with synthetic accounts and the hotel's actual responsibility list. Staff access is part of the PMS setup rather than an assumption that everyone can change every record.

For handover, inspect arriving guests, departing guests, unready units, maintenance issues and assigned tasks together. Keep unresolved work visible and identify the person responsible for the next action. Do not infer a measured reduction in cleaning time or staffing cost from a demonstration.

Prepare the scope for your property

Bring the room and bed structure, staff roles, shift patterns, leave rules and readiness process to an AU-PMS walkthrough. Agree which actions require manager review and what evidence should be retained.

The current scope does not establish payroll, statutory employment filings, biometric attendance or geofencing. Confirm device and operator acceptance, property policies and the live operating plan before real use. No unattended support service, response-time guarantee or always-offline workflow is promised.

Questions to work through.

Can housekeeping cover hostel beds as well as private rooms?

AU-PMS distinguishes private-room units and individually sold dorm beds in its local implementation. Review housekeeping, readiness and maintenance examples for each unit type during the walkthrough and confirm the property's actual configuration before live use.

Does marking cleaning complete make a unit available?

Cleaning completion and maintenance clearance are different facts. A maintenance outage or another occupancy/allocation issue may still prevent use. Check the complete room or bed state before promising it to the next guest.

Does AU-PMS staff management include payroll?

The confirmed scope here covers access, shifts, attendance corrections, leave and operational tasks. Payroll, statutory filings, biometrics and geofencing are not established capabilities of this solution page.
